I enjoyed the opportunity to see the students practicing their French, using their knowledge. It was great to see students helping others to pronounce, write or translate the information being shared. I also really enjoyed seeing the students sharing aspects of their identities and what is important to them.

A strength of the project was being able to share you skills with new people and talk to them about what interests you (using the language as it is actaully used).

A few improvements could have been made to how the students were able to interact. Students could have been more engaged by being able to chat individually to each other- talking about what THEY want to talk about. They could also have benefitted from more sessions.

Another improvement could be for students to use more ‘appropriate’ language/communication when chatting.

Ideas for next time might be to have a few more ‘pre-presentation’ sessions just to chat and introduce each other. Students could use the presentation slideshow as part of an oral assessment (perhaps later in the term or as part of the project).
